Our one-school campus serves students in grades TK-8 with about two classes per grade level. Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist with special education students and assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of Mild to Severe special education students and assist a certified teacher in reinforcing instruction to Special Day Class (SDC), Learning Center, Resource, Inclusion, or other non-severe special education students in a variety of settings. Assist in providing learning activities and meeting the special needs of assigned special education students in areas related to feeding, toileting, positioning, hygiene, motor skill, sensory and physical therapy functions; under the supervision of the school nurse monitor health conditions, and provide first aid. Assist in the implementation and instructional materials of individual education plans; assist in providing behavioral support and implementing behavior support and intervention plans, assist with individual assignments. To perform a variety of related duties to maintain a safe and positive learning environment in support of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) both inside and outside of the classroom. To support students within a Special Day Class (SDC), Learning Center/Resource Specialist, Inclusion, and/or PBIS Co-Teaching Program Model. This position requires a high degree of positive contact with students in Special Education and on IEP’s as well as certificated staff and under the direction of a certificated teacher.
