GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the immediate supervision of the school psychologist, this psychologist intern will:

  • Attend regular supervision meetings with other school psychologists, specialists, and interns
  • Attend SELPA sponsored trainings on legally defensible IEPs and report writing practices
  • Work in conjunction with school psychologist, specialists and teachers to conduct special education assessments
  • Attend IEP meetings
  • Participate in the SST process
  • Provide counseling services to regular and special education students
  • Assist in crisis management
  • Plan, assess, and attend staff development for the design and monitoring of behavior support plans

QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled in a graduate level school psychologist program

TRAINING SUPPORT
Opportunities for professional development through SELPA trainings and conference participation. Weekly collaboration and consultation with school psychologists as a department.

20 of the full-time weekly intern hours (40 hours) are paid at an hourly rate of $19 while the remaining 20 intern hours per week are unpaid. Please submit with the application: • Proof of BA/BS • Sample report • Proof of enrollment in school psychologist program • Three letters of recommendation.

Intern job duties include special education assessment, individual and group counseling, behavioral assessment and behavior support plans, consultation with staff and families, and participation as appropriate on site teams. The intern will be provided regular individual supervision with a credentialed school psychologist, as well as support and collaboration with other members of the site special education teams, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
