Job Summary
Unit members eligible for the stipend must be fluent, bilingual, biliterate and must pass the district’s competency test. Unit members working in a position designated as bilingual are not eligible. Bilingual stipends do not replace the needs or use of other bilingual employees from providing services to the District. The stipend is subject to change based on transfers or promotion’ at which time the unit member may apply again if circumstances warrant the request. The bilingual/biliterate stipend for any unit member may be terminated at any time by the unit member at which time the stipend shall no longer be paid, the service will not be provided. Bilingual/biliterate stipend positions will provide interpretive services for district correspondence, in the event the employee refuses to provide those services they forfeit their stipend. The District retains the sole right to determine the number and the placement of positions to be paid bilingual/biliterate stipends.

Comments and Other Information
Bilingual/biliterate stipends are on a year-to-year basis and must be applied for annually. Stipends will be paid monthly over the course of the school year.
10 month employee $750 yearly
11 month employee $825 yearly
12 month employee $900 yearly
