Helendale is a small, tight knit locality of 6,000 residents in Southern California’s high desert alongside historic Route 66. The district encompasses the Academy of Careers and Exploration, Helendale Elementary, Independence Charter Academy, and Riverview Middle School, catering to grades Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade. The district also oversees four independent charter schools that are within San Bernardino County or adjoining counties.
