Sierra County is located in the heart of the northern section of the Sierra Nevada. It remains today much as it was over 100 years ago when the gold-seeking argonauts worked the rivers and mountains in search of their fortune in gold. Sierra County has year-round recreation and learning opportunities for every visitor, and Reno is a short easy drive, and San Francisco is less than four hours away. There are opportunities to fish, hunt, camp, hike, picnic, and ski. Rivers and streams run free and the forests and meadows wrap their beauty around mountain; it is beautiful in all seasons.
