Job Summary

Under general supervision, to coordinate and perform specialized accounting and payroll clerical functions in the maintenance of fiscal, financial and a variety of statistical records; to perform complex and technical accounting clerical functions utilizing manual, machine and computer assisted accounting systems; and to do other related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by course work or training in payroll, accounting, and business office procedures; three years of increasingly responsible experience in fiscal and financial record management and reporting. Knowledge of: Procedures related to school district financial record management; operation of business office equipment, including computer skills in MS Office; requirements for input to electronic accounting and data processing systems; fiscal report preparation and formatting procedures. Ability to: Perform complex and technical accounting clerical functions; prepare, analyze and audit financial statements and related accounting summaries and reports; perform double entry bookkeeping; perform complex arithmetical computations with speed and accuracy; efficiently operate electronic accounting equipment and a variety of standard business office machines and equipment, including a 10 key by touch; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

EXAMINATION INFORMATION: All applicants must pass a series of three tests before interview consideration. The three tests consist of: 1.) A written skills test; 2.) MS Word computer software application test; 3.) MS Excel computer software application test. Stand-alone calculators are allowed for the written skills test, but are not provided. Calculators connected through mobile devices, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. are not allowed. ACCOMMODATIONS: In compliance with the American Disabilities Act, applicants with disabilities may request that reasonable accommodation be given related to the examination process itself. Applicants must notify the Office of Human Resources in writing of the type of accommodations being requested at the time of filing the application. Applicants may be required to provide documentation supporting the request for accommodation when the request is made. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance and a tuberculosis clearance.
