TYPIST CLERK IV BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform responsible accurate accounting of student enrollment and attendance in accordance with the provisions of the California Education Code; along with a wide variety of complex clerical and typing work requiring specialized knowledge in one or more specific functional areas involving frequent and responsible public contact. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Typist Clerk IV classification is distinguished from the Typist Clerk I, II and III by having the additional responsibilities of accounting for student enrollment and attendance. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Enter all attendance, enrollment and change of status information into the computer daily. 2. Generate and distribute enrollment reports as required; reconcile and adjust attendance reports before submitting them to the district office. 3. Generate and distribute enrollment reports as required; indicating all added and dropped students. 4. Provide student attendance information to staff, parents and authorities as requested. 5. Prepare and maintain student enrollment, attendance and discipline reports, records and files; maintain student class schedule files. 6. Perform extensive record-keeping duties within the area of assignment such as student records and master schedules. 7. Plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of difficult and complex clerical and typing work related to a specialized function to which assigned. 8. Conduct transactions with school personnel or the public in matters requiring a detailed knowledge of rules, procedures, policies, precedents, laws and activities. 9. Perform tasks requiring the exercise of independent judgment; supply information involving facts and interpretations. 10. Prepare documents based on data obtained from records and other sources and process them in accordance with prescribed procedures. 11. Develop and maintain a system of files and records; establish and maintain systems to ensure accountability and controls. 12. Compose correspondence and prepare reports independently or from written or oral instructions. 13. May supervise or provide work direction to student assistants or others. 14. May perform secretarial work, not involving dictation, for one or more supervisors or employees of the assigned function(s). 15. Perform a variety of specialized duties requiring considerable knowledge of the assigned function, its policies, terminology and clerical procedures. 16. Perform related duties as assigned. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Computers and varied computer software programs, modern office practice procedures; policies and practices specific to the assigned organization function; correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; basic math; standard office machines. ABILITY TO: Maintain an accurate attendance accounting system; compile statistical data quickly and accurately; learn to interpret attendance laws and policies; compile and produce reports; work with little supervision; ability to work in varied computer programs; maintain confidentiality of information; plan, lay out and conduct clerical operations requiring effective accountabilities and accurate controls; perform a variety of clerical work involving use of independent judgment requiring speed and accuracy; spell correctly, use correct English and make arithmetical calculations; type 50 words per minute; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; operate a variety of office machines including computers, copiers and duplicating equipment; interpret rules, regulations, laws and policies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, and two years progressively responsible experience in clerical and typing work. Some positions may require previous experience in a specialized area. WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical school environment, subject to interruptions and deadlines.

Required: *Possess strong computer skills, including working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge in various operating systems and applications. *2 Letters of Recommendation Desirable: *Desired qualifications include experience and the capacity to provide excellent customer service and support the daily operation of the Santa Rosa High ArtQuest Office at Santa Rosa High School. Assist the ArtQuest Coordinator in maintaining the master ArtQuest calendar of events and coordinating ArtQuest events on campus. Assist with the application process of the ArtQuest Program, including student shadowing, processing entry packets, collecting content to update the Program's website, and assisting in creating purchase orders.

Work Day: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Must complete Mandated Reporter Training- School Personnel module before first day of employment. When you apply for this position, you will receive an email attachment with the details of this training.
