Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.

Job Summary
Silicon Valley Adult Education (SVAE) Program serves a diverse population of adult learners. Under the Adult Education Block Grant (AB104), public adult schools are under greater pressure to accelerate learning and help more students reach post-secondary education and careers. The position of Transition Specialist will provide guidance and assistance for students in the English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma, High School Equivalency, and Adult Basic Skills Programs; and, to facilitate the achievement of career and academic goals following AB104 requirements. The Transition Specialist will work under the direction of the Principal or designated Administrator in the implementation of the South Bay Consortium for Adult Education (SBCAE) regional transition plans and goals.

Education and Credentials: • Possess valid non-emergency California teaching credential to adults in the subject area • Bachelor’s Degree
