POSITION SUMMARY:
The Blended Learning Specialist will provide support throughout the life cycles of the ASU Prep blended learning labs. The Blended Learning Specialist will work with the Director of Digital Academics to set up and launch the blended learning lab and provide continued support through face-to-face visits to the lab throughout the school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in teaching, test administration, advising, or similar educational role.
- Experience with e-Learning centers and/or virtual learning labs, highly preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly support ASU Prep Blended Learning Lab partnerships by working with students and/or staff to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Works collaboratively with lab facilitators by providing technical support for computer/printer problems.
- Provides support by teaching students how to use the Learning Management Systems by promoting student-teacher communication through phone, IM, texting and Skype.
- Responsible for monthly site visits to the various Blended Learning Labs throughout the school year to ensure each center is running efficiently and all technical issues are resolved.
- Communicates regularly with the Chief Academic Officer and Executive Director of Digital Academy regarding technical performance, such as status update reports or any technical needs for the various Blended Learning Labs.
- Coordinate and work effectively with the Blended Learning Specialist team to ensure brand consistency, integrity in customer service, and meeting high performing outcomes.
- Pioneer, capture and develop a Blended Learning Lab on-boarding process to ensure a seamlessly engaging and consistent user experience for all involved stakeholders.
- Develop deep understanding of ASU Prep blended and digital courses to ensure successful implementation; participate in, up to and including teaching, courses to develop rich understanding of systems, software, student demographics, expectations and operations; work with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and Curriculum Development staff to continuously collaborate on improvements to ASU Prep digital and blended courses.
- Provides customer service support to schools and students to facilitate successful completion of online courses.
- Develop and maintain strong industry relations, attend professional development, webinars or conduct visits to exemplar schools to stay abreast on current and upcoming trends in educational technology, blended or digital models.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

- Proficiency with Skype, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, Mobile Texting and other multichannel communication platforms.
- Be adventurous, creative and open minded.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. The employee must use hands, arms and fingers to input data, handle, feel or reach. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes, supplies, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
