Del Sol School is a nonpublic school in Cypress, California. Del Sol School provides specialized academic instruction to students from a variety of school districts in Orange County and the surrounding areas. All student services are funded by local school districts. Del Sol School utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis to teach students the behavioral skills necessary to succeed in a class room environment. Student at Del Sol School are taught both academic and functioning to help them transition back to a comprehensive school campus. Del Sol School's offers specialized academic instruction to students in elementary school, middle school, and high school. This program offers structured individualized education, qualified special education teachers, and behavior trained support staff to help students learn to enjoy school and to participate in the school program. Students receive the support they need to improve their independence and skills in all areas. Children show consistent progress on their individual goals and on the content standards. Our classrooms operate with a low student to staff ratio, with no more than 12 students per classroom. All students enrolled in Del Sol School’s non public school program must be refereed by their local school district.

• Minimum Associate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance

• Licensed to work in the state of California as a SLPA

• Completion of a certified program of study designed to prepare a student to be a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant or • Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology • Licensed to work in the state of California as a SLPA

• Clinical or school-based experience working with the pediatric population is preferable

The primary responsibility of the speech-language pathology assistant is to provide language and speech services to students as mandated on their IEP in a school setting. Essential Job Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, School Psychologist, and Site Director

• Will assist in providing educationally related speech therapy services including;

o Provision of speech and language services in the educational setting.

o Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff in the provision of speech and language support goals in the educational setting.

o Documenting therapy and records progress.

o Assisting with data collection and the treatment of students with communication disorders.

o Assisting with the development of IEP goals and objectives as part of the IEP of the student.

o Maintaining a variety of service related logs according to organizational guidelines.

o Organizing therapy materials in preparation for intervention services.
