STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher, the Instructional Aide implements the school curriculum, management system, and day treatment plan.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures the safety of assigned students through direct supervision commensurate with North Valley Schools supervision levels and current student functioning in accordance with standards and procedures.
2. 1:1 or small group instruction under the direction of the teacher consistent with lesson plans.
3. Plans and supervises daily activities and outings in accordance with safety directives, treatment/educational goals and in strict adherence to daily structure. Lead, facilitate, support, as directed by interdisciplinary team.
4. Ensures that the physical needs of the students are met by reporting all potential health and safety problems and by maintaining the cleanliness of the school and vehicles in accordance with established standards and procedures.
5. Assists in preparation and care of instructional materials and equipment.
6. Maintains daily school structure; maintains understanding of approved interventions and treatment milieu; and communicates all essential information through established documentation standards including recording behavioral points and completing Special Incident Reports. Performs duties as assigned by the teacher, including taking attendance, duplication, grading objective work, recording grades, taking inventory and ordering supplies.
7. Completes tasks as indicated by their specific task assignments.
PERIODIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assess and determine interventions to be used to support “Behavioral Management System” for assigned students.
2. Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe environment for students and staff.
3. Attends scheduled in-service training programs.
4. Attends meetings as assigned.
5. Other duties as may be initiated on task list.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years/older; have valid Ca Driver Lic; Clean DMV; ability to pass pre-employment physical with drug test; ability to perform physical retraints with students as necessary; pass fingerprint background; have a min. of 48 college units.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Experience working/volunteering with youth in academic setting preferred Minimum of 48 college units or AA degree is required, college degree is preferred. Essential Requirements Include: Must be 21 years or older Must have valid CA driver's license and clean DMV record Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check Must be able to pass pre-employment physical including a drug test and physical fitness test.
