
Instructional Assistant at KiDA (Kids Institute for Development & Advancement)

KIDA, a private non-public school in Irvine, is looking for an experienced, energetic, and caring Instructional Assistant in the classroom from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We are a center of excellence serving children with autism and other developmental delays, and approach children’s needs both individually and as part of dynamic multi-disciplinary teams which include licensed experts in speech, behavioral, and occupational therapy. We provide professional development for our therapists with ongoing support as well as a high degree of responsibility with room for growth.
Responsibilities:
• Implement in-class instruction and behavior management;
• Document and collect data and provide daily assessments and
progress;
• Assist with children’s hygiene and mealtimes;
• Develop instructional materials;
• Maintain client files and treatment logs in an organized manner and provide appropriate documentation to interdisciplinary team;
• Communicate with the lead teacher regarding any problems or changes in programs; and
• Attend and participate in meetings as required (team, staff, and IEP meetings).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required;
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with Autism diagnosis or ADHD;
• Experience working with children and ability to be patient;
• Professional, positive attitude and appearance;
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills;
• Reliable, trustworthy, ethical and resourceful;
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
