Position: BTSA Support Provider Classification: Certificated
Reports to: BTSA Director Range: Certificated Salary Schedule
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of beginning teacher development
Knowledge of the State adopted academic content and standards and performance levels for students,
State-adopted curriculum frameworks and the California Standards for the Teacher Profession (CSTP)
Valid CA Clear teaching credential and at least three years teaching experience
Current or former Certificated Central Unified School District employee
Valid California driver's license
BTSA support provider experience preferred
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Supervisor of BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment), assume
responsibility for guiding and assisting newly credentialed, first or second year teachers in obtaining a
Professional, Level II teaching credential and to assist in the coordinating of the BTSA program.
SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Model the Plan, Teach, Reflect, and Apply cycle
2. Support the participating teacher in analyzing student work and planning instruction to meet the needs of
students
3. Guide collegial work based on the assessed needs of the participating teacher
4. Support the participating teacher in using evidence from the formative assessment system to select
professional growth goals and develop a plan to reach the goals (IIP)
5. Observe and collect evidence in the participating teacher’s classroom
6. Become knowledgeable about the phases of new teacher growth and the domains of the California Standards
for the Teacher Profession
7. Be available to meet, on average, a minimum of one hour per week with your Participating Teacher.
8. Be available to attend monthly after-school Support Provider meetings
9. Be available to attend the required Formative Assessment training.

Should possess personal qualifications recognized as essential for good public employees including integrity,
initiative, dependability, courtesy, good judgment, maintain confidentiality and ability to work cooperatively
with others.
-Participate in professional training to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective support
provider
-Engage in formative assessment processes, including non-evaluative, reflective conversations about
formative assessment evidence with participating teachers
-Share instructional ideas and materials with participating teachers
-Deepen understanding of cultural, ethnic, cognitive, linguistic and gender diversity
-Demonstrate commitment to personal professional growth and learning
-Be an excellent professional role model
