• Must possess and maintain a valid California Credential; • Must possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Service Credential; • Must have at least five (5) years of school site administration experience; • Must have good communication skills in oral and written form. • The ombuds should be a person of recognized knowledge, judgment, objectivity, and integrity. • Bachelors Degree and Master’s Degree is required. • Mediation or alternative dispute resolution experience is strongly desired. • Understanding of diverse cultures and backgrounds is essential. • Must be willing and able to obtain relevant education and periodic updating of the ombuds’ qualifications. • If selected, must be an active member of professional associations related to ombuds and alternative dispute resolution in order to stay on the leading edge of critical ombuds’ issues.
