Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   

DEFINITION: The INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE, under the supervision of the Principal, will adhere to applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the state, county, and school district governing board. The INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE will assist teachers by providing individual/group assistance to students; consult with teachers regarding individualized/group educational goals and objectives; may present instructional material to a student group; set up work areas and prepares materials; set up exhibits, displays, and collections; keep routine records; and do other related work as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience in Algebra and English skills
Knowledge in basic clerical procedures
Verification of a negative TB (tuberculosis) test, upon hire.
Candidate must receive clearance from DOJ/FBI clearance.


SKILLS AND ABILITY TO:
Use equipment such as computer and copy machine
Willingness to update skills and knowledge commensurate with the demands of this position
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Work independently
Interact with students, public and staff effectively


EDUCATION:
High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or High School Proficiency Certificate.
Associates Degree/ 48 Semester Units or two (2) years higher education study related to position requirements or a Paraprofessional Exam.
NCLB requirements must be met


Must possess a valid California Driver’s License
