Aspect Foundation International Student Exchange is looking for individuals to manage the student exchange program in your community! We are a non-profit educational organization founded in 1985 to promote international understanding and goodwill through high school exchanges. Our local representatives work with teenagers from many countries who come to the USA to experience life with a host family, improve their English skills, and attend a local high school for one or two semesters. This is a part-time position which is easily incorporated into a busy teacher's schedule - most of our coordinators simply do this on the side for fun! This may also be a good fit for school administrators, counselors, and other experienced school administrators.
Job Responsibilities
- Recruit volunteer two or more host families in your community
- Interview host families in their home and check their references
- Aid in the selection of a student for the host family
- Act as a liaison to local high schools and assist in the enrollment of the students
- Oversee students throughout the year, which includes once a month phone contact with the students and host families
- Contact the local high school to collect progress reports and grades
- Conduct four meetings throughout the year to orientate the host family and student to the exchange experience
- Refer your own students for one of our many fabulous study abroad opportunities to earn additional bonuses (optional)
- Additional opportunities to lead American student groups abroad and qualify for free travel (optional)
- Serve as an advocate for our students, providing advice and guidance through challenges (culture shock, homesickness, etc.) while encouraging our students to explore their new home and become a part of the community
- Help make an American dream come true for an international student
- Help create a more tolerant and peaceful world!
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills. Must be outgoing, energetic, self-motivated.
- Must have community contacts.
- Experience with and enthusiasm for working with teens
- Ability to provide references and pass a criminal background check
- Strong email management and computer skills a must
- Must be at least 25 years of age by 9/1/2018.
Several openings are available. Approximately 75% of the job can be done from home. Most of our coordinators spend between 5-10 hours per month working with our students and host families. Experienced coordinators welcome. Comprehensive training provided. 24-hour support from our full-time, professional staff. You will earn up to $1,000 for each student you place and supervise per year. We also offer international incentive trips for qualifying coordinators.

Representatives promote and place a minimum of two high school exchange students per year with volunteer host families. Provide orientation meetings, monthly check-in calls, bi-monthly activities, and general support throughout the year. Make world-wide friendships and promote cross-cultural understanding! Time commitment is ~8 hrs per month for two students. Most people do this on the side to their full-time jobs. Full training/support provided.
