Preschool Teacher

 

St. Anne Child Development Center is seeking preschool teachers for our school in Laguna Niguel. Immediate positions are available for caring, enthusiastic and responsible individuals to assist in the 2 year-old daily curriculum activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of preschool and school age children. Teachers will be responsible for assisting in the care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, supervision and redirection of children in the classroom and in the playground areas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a role model of professionalism in a Catholic environment.
  • Supports the philosophy, policies, and goals of the school, as well as the decisions made by the Board of Directors and Administrators.
  • Insures the health, safety and welfare of all students.
  • Holds in strict confidence all matters pertaining to school.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook and Employee Handbook.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preschool Teachers must have a minimum of 12 qualified units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and preferably with Administrative experience. Teacher candidates must have acquired skills in providing tender loving care and support to children 2 to 3 years of age,  demonstrate skills and abilities to maintain friendly and successful communication with parents, and establish successful team work with other teaching staff. Teachers must be able to maintain classroom cleanliness and orderliness, adherence and compliance with expected professional behaviors as required by management.

 

DUTIES:

  • Plan, implement, and supervise the educational program for your class in accordance with the goals, policies, procedures, philosophy and curriculum of the School.
  • Insure the classroom program meets the needs of the individual student.
  • Treat each student with dignity and respect.
  • Insure a positive environment where each student is encouraged to reach his/her potential and to take risk.
  • Be responsible for the appearance of your classroom, including display of students’ work, classroom guidelines, bulletin boards, and a neat and orderly appearance.
  • Attend all staff meetings, in-services, and required school functions.
  • Provide lunch/playground/carpool supervision as assigned.
  • Provide necessary and effective parent communication, including Parent/Student conferences.
  • Be actively involved in the WASC/WCEA accreditation process.
  • Attend the following activities:
    • All School Masses and Chapels
    • Morning Assembly
    • Christmas Program
    • Donuts for Dads/Muffins for Moms
    • Field Day
    • Committee Meetings (see contract for other “duties” outside the school day)
    • All other activities as outlined in the Employee Agreement
  • Complete record keeping accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to a professional dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Attend special subject classes and teacher development activities as required.
  • Arrange for substitute teacher and provide meaningful lesson plans in the event of your absence.
  • Maintain a professional attitude with students, parents, and other staff members.

Hours:   Ten-month exempt employee
