Job Summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Bright Futures Academy is a non public school for students 6-22 yrs old with special needs/disabilities and may have challenging behaviors. The duties of this position include supervising students in the classroom, assisting with instruction needs, supervising while on playground and during entire school day. The position will include an AM or a PM shift working as a van aide supervising students while on a route. You are able to choose an AM route working as an Aide starting out in the early morning (7am depending on the route) and then working in the classroom as an aide. Or working in the classroom as an Aide which begins at 9am to 3:00pm and then working as an Aide on a route which begins at 3:00pm and ends anywhere from 5pm to 6pm (depending on the route). The transportation aide along with the classroom aide provides employees with a full time Monday through Friday position. Eligibility for health benefits (medical, dental, vision). This is a rewarding experience assisting students with social skills, providing classroom instruction through the supervision of a teacher and providing mentorship and positive reinforcement to students. WORK HOURS: Classroom hours may vary based on campus instructional hours, generally 5 1/2 hours plus route hours, Monday through Friday.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with special needs students in a classroom setting assisting with school based instruction and behavioral management. High school education or equivalent required.
