
Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) Sign Language Interpreter (Certified) Itinerant, Special Education (4 positions) at Fresno Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
The DHH Sign Language Interpreter will, under the general supervision of the Special Education Department, provide high quality Sign Language and spoken English interpreting services in order to facilitate communication among students and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other personnel within the school system who are participating in sanctioned District activities.
The individual must be certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)or have achieved a minimum score of 4.0 or above in the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter (ESSE-I), Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA), the American Consortium of Certified Interpreters(ACCI), or the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) assessment. 48 college units or NCLB (No Child Left Behind) compliance. Applicants must complete an online application and submit a current resume and two current support letters before the closing date.
