TECHNOLOGY/INFORMATION SYSTEM TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the technology/information system manager, maintains overall technology and information systems districtwide; responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of district hardware and software.
Knowledge of installing and troubleshooting software for Windows (9X, XP pro, Windows 7 pro), Macintosh operating systems (both classic and OS X), productivity/office suites, TCP/IP networking; hardware for Intel and MAC computers systems.
Ability to install and configure Windows and Macintosh operating systems as well as ability to install and configure end-user applications software and peripherals; install, configure, and maintain peripheral devices such as printers and scanners; install, debug, and configure memory and interface cards in printers and computer systems; troubleshoot and willingness to learn new skills and systems; demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups and adults; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults. Perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment; understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Experience
One year experience installing, operating, and maintaining computer hardware and software.
Essential Functions of this Position
Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations; Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time; Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes rules and policies and other printed matter and observing students; Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels; Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation; Ability to bend and twist, kneel and stoop, run and crawl; Ability to reach in all directions; Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry 25 lbs.

Appointment to this position predicated upon submitting a negative TB result, and candidate must complete the state fingerprinting requirements and the district must receive a clearance by the California Department of Justice.
