Due to continued growth Mad SCIENCE IS HIRING --We need instructors to teach fun, hands-on science programs!! (A science background is not required.)

Mad Science is seeking high energy presenters for our science programs conducted in child care centers, schools, camps and Park and Recs throughout the Milwaukee, Waukesha and Racine area. This position requires a high-energy individual who can get kids excited about science. You must have access to a reliable car and be able to work a minimum of 2 days during the week , at least a couple hours between the hours of 2:30-5:30pm. (Monday-Friday). Additional weekend hours are also available, mainly on Saturdays.

*****Experience with kids in a structured setting is an absolute must! (babysitting or having kids of your own does not count).

ABOUT THE JOB - The Mad Science Instructor/Presenter position is a part-time, about 4-30 hours per week.

As a Mad Science Instructor you will be responsible for facilitating science programs which can last anywhere for 1-6 hours. Most programs are one hour long. Each session is a very high-energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on class.

As a new instructor you will be typically teach 3-7 classes per week. If you have tons of exactly the right kind of experience or are incredibly gifted in science AND classroom management, you may be asked to sign up for more. Each one hour class will take approximately 90 minutes to complete as you are required to be on-site 15 minutes before your class begins and it takes about 15 minutes to make sure kids are delivered safely to parents and to clean up.

ABOUT THE PAY - The presenter/entertainer/instructor position for Mad Science is a part-time job. Mad Science pays a flat-fee of $22-35 per one-hour class. With set up and tear down it averages about $12-28 per hour after training. When traveling outside of Milwaukee County, you will also receive mileage compensation.


REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB - To be invited to interview you must meet the following requirements:

1. Previous experience with grade school kids in.

2. Up-beat, child-friendly personality. (you must be high energy, our programs are part education and part entertainment)

3. Able to work a minimum of 2 days per week during the afternoon hours (2:30-5:30) (the more the better!!!)

4. Have a reliable car or access to a reliable car.

5. Have a valid driver's license and current proof of automobile insurance.

6. 18+ years of age, able to pass a background check and sign a noncompete/confidentiality agreement.

7. Have at least an interest in science, preferable some college science coursework.

8. Looking for part-time work.(PLEASE don't apply if you really want full time work, this is strictly a permanent, part, part time job) Hours are available year round. During the school year, the hours are mainly in the afternoon and weekends. Please DO NOT Apply of you are looking for summer only employment, during the school year you can work anywhere 3-25 hours, depending on your needs and availability.
