
Instructional Assistant at KiDA (Kids Institute for Development & Advancement)

A non-public school in Irvine is looking for an experienced, energetic, and caring Instructional Assistant in the classroom from Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 3:00pm. We are a center of excellence serving children with autism and other developmental delays, and approach children’s needs both individually and as part of dynamic multi-disciplinary teams which include licensed experts in speech, behavioral, and occupational therapy. We provide professional development for our therapists with ongoing support as well as a high degree of responsibility with room for growth.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior management;
- Document and collect data on all sessions and provide daily assessments and
progress; - Assist with toileting and mealtimes;
- Develop instructional materials;
- Maintain client files and treatment logs in an organized manner and provide appropriate documentation to interdisciplinary team;
- Communicate with the lead teacher regarding any problems or changes in programs; and
- Attend and participate in meetings as required (team, staff, and IEP meetings).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required;
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with Autism diagnosis or ADHD;
- Experience working with children and ability to be patient;
- Professional, positive attitude and appearance;
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills;
- Reliable, trustworthy, ethical and resourceful;
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; and
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
