The Accelerated School (TAS) seeks Program Workers to join an expanding team of professionals that are making a positive difference in the lives of TAS students and the community. The TAS Community of Schools includes W.M. Keck Early Learning Center, Accelerated Charter Elementary School, The Accelerated School and Wallis Annenberg High School. Responsibilities and Duties: -Facilitate recreation, education and/or enrichment activities. -Design, plan and facilitate activities with groups of 20 children. -Advise the Site Coordinator as to what supplies, materials and other forms of support are needed for activities. -Supervise all LA’s Best participants to ensure a safe and organized program. -Assist with planning and facilitation of special projects and events. -Attend staff development workshops. -Reports to the Site Coordinator. -Performs related duties as assigned. Knowledge of: -Desire to work with children. -Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, parents and community. -Ability to work collaboratively with public officials, private sector officials, parents and community leaders. -Communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others. -Excellent organizational skills. -Speak or write a language other than English preferred. -Eligible to accept LA’s Best assignment. -Willing to work evenings and Saturdays. -Willing travel to off-site meetings, trainings and events.
