Carney Educational Services provides one-on-one free tutoring to qualifying students who attend qualifying schools in the Vallejo area. The position is seasonal. We follow the school year, September through June of each year. The position pays $18.00 per hour to start. The tutoring sessions need to be conducted after school hours and/or on the weekends. The following are the requirements for the tutoring position: Two years of teaching/tutoring experience. 60 college credits preferred. Reliable transportation a MUST! Bi-lingual in Spanish/English a PLUS! Must have a computer, email address and cell phone. Be aware of the California State Standards for the subjects of Math and English Language Arts for grades K-12. Be able to tutor in the subjects of Math and English Language Arts for grades K-12. Be organized and self motivated. Punctuality a MUST!! Attend a three hour training prior to placement. Be live scan fingerprinted for our company.\ Provide proof of your current (taken within the last 4 years) negative TB test results. Must be willing to drive to clients home or local library. Must understand the role of a Mandated reporter. Be sencitive to the social and academic needs of each student. Be willing to work with Parents as educational partners. Have working relationships between parent, student and tutor. Be aware of the time and commitment necessary to prepare for each students needs.
