Under the supervision of the site Administrator perform the various duties of Visual and Performing Arts coach (VAPA), including: * Coaching and mentoring Theater Arts Students * Performing day to day operations to facilitate the theater program * Preparing students and production elements for both Fall and Spring Productions The coach provides specialized instruction in technical theater or has a special role in preparing technical elements in both theater productions each year at Monrovia High School. The coach may be asked to complete tasks which will go towards full length productions at Monrovia High School or teach students specialized skills in technical theater such as set building, costuming, lighting design and sound design. Instructs students, helping them develop technical skills, musicality, and performance confidence. Requirements / Qualifications
* Completion of one of the following courses: “Fundamentals of Coaching” course completion certificate, Online Course, available through National Federation of High Schools (www.nfhslearn.com) or "Coaching Principles” completion certificate. Online course, available through Human Kinetics Coach Education Center (http://www.asep.com/courseInfo/purchase_courseinfo.cfm?CourseID=228&OrgID=28) * "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" course completion certificate. Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Concussion in Sports" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Heat Illness Prevention" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * CPR & First Aid: evidence of current certification. MUST be recognized by the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. (Online Courses Unacceptable) * TB Test: evidence of current negative test OR Adult TB Risk Assessment Form. * Current Driver License at time of employment. Candidates to upload required Certificates to EdJoin.org application in order for applications to be considered.
