Job Summary
Mariposa County Unified School District is seeking a passionate and collaborative .25 FTE High School Band Teacher to provide engaging, standards-based instrumental music instruction at Mariposa County High School. This position will support student musicians, foster performance skills, and contribute to the continued growth of the high school band program. The assignment includes serving as the Marching Band Instructor and working collaboratively with school administration and the Educational Services Department to support a strong and engaging music program. An additional stipend, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, is available to the employee who meets the performance standards associated with the Marching Band Instructor assignment. The District is considering multiple staffing configurations to meet the needs of its music program. This assignment may be combined with other available District music assignments depending upon candidate interest, qualifications, and District needs. We are seeking passionate applicants to fill a music position to serve students starting for the 2026-2027 school year. This positions are part of the Certificated Teacher Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience and education on the Certificated Teacher Unit Employee Salary schedule. PLEASE NOTE THE 2026-27 SALARY SCHEDULE IS PENDING - SALARY IS CURRENTLY BASED ON THE 2025-26 SALARY SCHEDULE. A full job description is attached. The Mariposa County Unified School District is considering multiple staffing configurations to meet the needs of its music program. This assignment may be combined with other available District music assignments depending upon candidate interest, qualifications, and District needs.
The Mariposa County High School is an accredited, comprehensive high school which serves approximately 475 students from grades 9-12. Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Mariposa, California, the high school provides facilities for academic, cultural and entertainment activities for the high school population as well as the community at large. The music program is a large part of community entertainment activities.
The Mariposa County Unified School District is located in Mariposa County and serves grades K-12. With approximately 1,700 students, the area consists of several necessary small schools, K-8 schools and one comprehensive high school. Mariposa County has several rural communities that surround Yosemite National Park and are centrally-located in California to provide a day's drive to old-growth forests, deserts, coastal communities and cities. The area is suited for those interested in outdoor activities and rural community life, including an Arts Council and Symphony Orchestra right here in the town of Mariposa!
