Job Summary
The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate Technical Theater coach possessing expertise in a variety of skills including but not limited to light, sound, set and costume design to support in-class instruction during the regular school day. Throughout the school year, the coach will work alongside a credentialed teacher at District High Schools, supporting all theatrical students in developing skills in the field of Technical Theater. This role includes lesson planning, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to high-quality technical theater education for a diverse student body.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications/Certifications: •Experience with technical aspects of the Theater including but not limited to light, sound, set and sound design •Experience should cover a wide range of duties in Technical Theatre work (lighting, audio, carpentry, projection, electrical, electronic, and other effects) •Experience supervising volunteers, interns, or students is preferred
Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit Resume and Letters of Recommendation/Reference. Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results PRIOR to employment.

•Guide students through the creative process of creating a lighting, sound, set and costume design
•Mentor and support students in developing their artistic skills through working on a Theatrical presentation
•Assist school site's Theater teacher and other school personnel by supervising events held in the performance spaces •Assist the School site's Theater teacher by helping to maintain and perform minor repairs as needed to the Theater's equipment
•Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
•Person serving in this capacity would be assigned to Dance, Drama, Technical Theater, and Music Theater production courses
•May need to teach at multiple sites to meet requirement of base assignment
