BASIC FUNCTION: The Visual and Performing Arts/Freshman Seminar Teacher provides engaging, arts-integrated instruction that helps ninth-grade students successfully transition to high school while developing academic, organizational, social-emotional, and college and career readiness skills. Through creative inquiry, design thinking, visual and performing arts, storytelling, and project-based learning, students build confidence, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, self-advocacy, and a sense of belonging. The teacher establishes positive relationships with students, families, and staff and creates an inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement, creativity, and academic success.
