Job Summary
Under the direction of a District Business Support Manager or Director, the Financial Specialist performs a variety of complex accounting and fiscal functions in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local regulations. The position provides support to the Payroll and Retirement Compliance Department by reviewing, analyzing, and processing detailed payroll and retirement data for the Stanislaus County Office of Education and for school districts, including direct service, charter, independent, and community college programs.
Requirements / Qualifications
SCOE Ed-Join Application EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or High School Equivalent Certificate and three (3) years’ experience in either human resources, payroll, retirement, accounting, and other business processes in either a large organization or related accounting work and experience with advanced techniques in the use of computerized spreadsheets. Bachelor Degree in accounting, business or related field preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience that could provide the desired skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS: The following documents are not required at the time of application but will be required of the selected applicant prior to employment: Department of Justice Fingerprint clearance, Tuberculosis Skin Test clearance & Pre-Employment Drug Screen clearance will be required prior to employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.
