Job Summary
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST PURPOSE: Under direction of the Director of Risk Management, establishes, maintains, manages the District's Environmental Health and Safety programs; inspects District facilities and grounds to assure compliance with established environmental and occupational safety rules, regulations and procedures; schedule, supervise, and manage District environmental and occupational safety training for District personnel.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Education and Experience: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety role. Note: Alternatives may be accepted: Bachelor’s degree in EH&S related field + 1 yrs. experience, or Associates Degree in EH&S related field + 3 yrs. Experience. • ASP or CSP and/or other EHS certificates and credentials desired. • Prior experience in process improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma is a plus • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). • Strong presentation skills, excellent written and verbal skills Licenses: Possession of a valid California driver's license
