* * * POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED FOR THE 2025 -2026 SCHOOL YEAR * * * BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Early Childhood Education Teacher works under the direction of an assigned Supervisor. The teacher position will assist and cooperate in a supportive role carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. The teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all children in their care and develops partnerships with parents/caregivers to engage and encourage parents/caregivers participation in the program. KNOWLEDGE OF: • Early childhood education programs, education theory, health and nutrition standards, operations and procedures, and developmentally appropriate practice. • Preschool/ Early Learning Foundations. • Applicable section of State Education Code, Title 22, current laws, guidelines, codes, regulations and rules related to early childhood care and education in public schools and other applicable laws. • Child guidance principles and practices related to young children. • Common safety in working with and supervising children. • Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct. • Operation of standard and modern office and classroom equipment. • Up-to-date student assessment techniques, practices, methods and terminology used in early childhood education settings. • Cultural awareness, appreciation and sensitivity techniques. • Current techniques, tools, practices, and analysis methodology used to complete assigned tasks. • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary in either written or oral communication, as applicable. • Oral and written communication skills. • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED). • Graduation with a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited or recognized college or university with a major in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field is required. • Two (2) years of instructional experience in a classroom environment for Early Childhood Education. • Child Development Teacher Permit. • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1) Official Child Development Teacher Permit. Such permits are initially required prior to employment and once employed employees are responsible for maintaining up-to-date permits. 2) A valid CPR and First Aid certificate issued by an authorized agency and once employed employees are responsible for maintaining up-to-date certificates. 3) California Child Care: Preventive Health & Safety Certificate. 4) Valid Class C Driver’s license & availability of private transportation.
