Job Summary

Job Summary

This position will cover PreSchool Programs, Private School and some Elementary Sites. Responsibilities: State Department of Education reports and SELPA documentation; supervises and assists in the evaluation of assigned Special Education staff; responsible for purchasing and record keeping of supplies and equipment; assists in budget development and monitoring; monitors specialized education programs to ensure compliance, including end of year requirements, transition and extended school year preparations; coordinates transportation needs, chairperson for specific IEP meetings and change of placements; participates in compliant proceedings, mediations and due process hearings; supervises and coordinates pre-school level augmentative communication teams. Assists with other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education Must hold a valid special education credential, and administrative services credential. Has advanced training with exceptional needs and a specialized in depth knowledge in one or more areas of major handicapping conditions. Public school experience as a teacher of special needs. Speech and Language Pathology experience is strongly preferred.
