Job Summary

Job Summary

The Director, Principal holds the educational vision for Alameda County Office of Education’s (ACOE) Community Schools, including programs designed for expelled, foster youth, and probation referred students. We are looking for an educator who possesses an unrelenting belief that all students can achieve; a partner who is fully invested in multi-systems collaborative change; a leader who will make a difference in shaping long-term outcomes for our most vulnerable students. Under the supervision of the Chief of Schools the Director, Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership for the ACOE Quest Academy, an independent studies program, and provides support across the Division of Student Programs and Services as needed. The Director, Principal leads educational efforts in alignment with the ACOE Vision and Mission while partnering with multiple agencies and community partners dedicated to building effective educational programs and achieving equitable outcomes for our youth Quest Academy offers students in Alameda County an alternative to classroom instruction with a standards-based course of study. This includes full-day, collaborative, and blended model that includes cross-classroom instruction and collaboration as well as an independent studies instructional strategy that is based on a contractual agreement between the teacher, the student, and the parents/guardians. This position will be located at: Quest Academy - Hayward 21400 Bedford Drive Hayward, CA 94546 (at Strobridge Elementary School)

Valid Clear California Teaching Credential (required) Valid Administrative Credential or a Certificate of Eligibility (required) Bachelor Degree (required) Masters Degree (preferred) Have a minimum of five years of experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or serving vulnerable populations. Have experience and a commitment to meeting the needs of all students, including students with significant learning gaps and special education needs. Please submit: A letter of interest.
