Job Summary

The Director, Principal holds the educational vision for Alameda County Office of Education’s (ACOE) Community Schools, including programs designed for expelled, foster youth, and probation referred students. We are looking for an educator who possesses an unrelenting belief that all students can achieve; a partner who is fully invested in multi-systems collaborative change; a leader who will make a difference in shaping long-term outcomes for our most vulnerable students. Under the supervision of the Chief of Schools the Director, Principal provides instructional and administrative leadership for the ACOE Quest Academy, an independent studies program with two locations, and provides support across the Division of Student Programs and Services as needed. Quest Academy combines independent study with cross-classroom teaching. We value innovation, teacher voice, and a collaborative school culture. Educators at Quest Academy actively contribute to school-wide initiatives and are encouraged to bring fresh ideas to support student success. Valid Clear California Teaching Credential (required) Valid Administrative Credential or a Certificate of Eligibility (required) Bachelor Degree (required) Masters Degree (preferred) Have a minimum of five years of experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or serving vulnerable populations. Have experience and a commitment to meeting the needs of all students, including students with significant learning gaps and special education needs. Please submit: A letter of interest.
