Adult Education EL Teacher - Discovery High School at Natomas Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
We currently have two openings for the Adult EL night school. Fall Semester: Tuesday and Thursday, Monday and Wednesday. 4:30 to 8 pm (5-8 pm class) 30 mins prep before class. September 1, 2025, 2025 through December 2025. Spring Semester: Tuesday and Thursday, Monday and Wednesday. 4:30 to 8 pm (5-8 pm class) 30 mins prep before class. January 12, 2026, through May 2026. The instructional calendar follows the Natomas Unified School District student calendar. Job Description/Essential Elements: PRIMARY FUNCTION: To create a learning environment and to plan an instructional program to fulfill the educational objectives of the grade level/classes assigned. DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO Principals or designee ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES: Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment. 2. Develop with the supervisor objectives for his/her work. 3. Plan learning activities appropriate to the subject(s), grade level(s), abilities, attitudes, and cultural background of individual students. 4. Evaluate the work of students. 5. Communicate with students and school counselors to discuss each student’s progress. 6. Advises and counsels students and cooperates with other staff members in assessing and helping students solve academic, health, attitude, and learning problems. REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING A valid California Single Subject or Multiple Subject Credential. Applicants will need to have a valid English Learner Authorization
