Job Summary
The Executive Director of Special Education assumes overall management responsibility for the operations of the District’s special education programs and the implementation of the Local Plan and reports directly to the Associate Superintendent. Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: A minimum five (5) years of successful teaching experience in special education and two (2) years of experience as a site administrator or a special education program specialist. Extensive experience in managing special education services and in working effectively with people at all levels and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in district-level work, including a wide range of assigned responsibilities. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: Possession of a master’s degree in special education or related field, a special education teaching credential or PPS credential and a California Administrative Services Credential. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS • Current Resume • Letter of Intent (Addressed to Shelley Petersen, Associate Superintendent, Learning Support Services) • Copy of California Administrative Credential • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation signed within the last 12 months (One (1) should come from an immediate supervising administrator)
