Job Summary
This position requires a dynamic person with an affinity to serve employers and students, filling a pivotal role in developing a transformative Workforce Development Initiative at Tehama County high schools. The goal of the initiative is to address the critical skills shortage faced by regional businesses through establishing youth apprenticeship programs and supporting students and their families in navigating postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, including workforce opportunities and higher education. The selected candidate will play a critical role in achieving four key outcomes: 1. Establish a Youth Pre-Apprenticeship Program that prepares students with foundational skills and industry exposure. 2. Develop a Youth Registered Apprenticeship in collaboration with regional employers, ensuring students gain hands-on experience and credentials. 3. Create the North State Youth Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning (WBL) Toolkit to serve as a resource for expanding apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities. 4. Strengthen Tehama County's CTE and Work-Based Learning Systems by fostering employer partnerships, aligning programs with industry needs, and enhancing student access to postsecondary career pathways. NOTE to TCDE employees:
Employees that apply for a promotional opportunity will typically be placed on step one of the new higher classification. If step one is lower than their current salary, they will be placed at a step that provides for at least a 5% increase. If they have previous experience in a same higher classification they will be placed commensurate with that verified experience (lower classification experience does not apply to higher classifications).
