Required Qualifications:
- Prior job related experience in school or institutional setting
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Significant physical abilities including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
- Knowledge of current methods, materials, tools and equipment used in general maintenance functions, an standards for safe use of equipment
- Skills to operate hand and power tools used in general maintenance functions, basic math to calculate measurements, quantities, etc.
- Job related experience, especially in the trades desirable
- Interpersonal skills to relate to parents, students and staff
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Major Duties and Responsiblities:
- Inspect, repair and install new/existing facility components to ensure safe operating condition
- Build facility components for the purpose of modifying and/or adapting facilities to specific needs
- Weld components to ensure a safe operating condition
- Install system components and/or partson various equipment
- Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns
- HVAC/Electrical experience/training is desirable
