Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, the Director of Multilingual Learner Services is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of a school district’s program to support multilingual learners, including curriculum development, teacher training, student assessment, family engagement, and advocacy, ensuring all multilingual students, including Newcomer students, receive appropriate educational support to achieve academic success. This role requires a deep understanding of language acquisition theories, federal and state regulations regarding multilingual learning, and strong leadership skills to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and community members to effectively serve diverse student populations.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Possess an administrative services credential. Five (5) years of demonstrated classroom teaching experience with a focus on instruction and curriculum development. Master’s degree in Education or related field, or discipline. Experience instructing English Language Learners (ELLs) across a range of various grade levels. Preferred bilingual fluency in English and a relevant language, supporting diverse student needs. Licenses and Certificates: Requires an Administrative Services credential and a valid California State Driver's License. • Valid California Teaching Credential • Valid California Administrative Services Credential • Master's Degree Letter of Introduction Current Resume 3 Letters of Reference Copy of Credential (s)
