Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the music director is to be knowledgeable about core content and to train K-12 students to meet performance standards for instrumental and vocal music. This position includes building an instrumental music program from the ground up, starting with students in 4th and 5th grade with the goal of expanding all the way through high school. The well-qualified candidate will also be an enthusiastic and engaging leader of classroom music and able to build  a variety of music programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Additional responsibilities may include directing the pep band for athletic events and involvement with school musical productions. The candidate should be able to meet the needs of a wide variety of students and to effectively communicate with and engage students in learning in developmentally appropriate ways. In addition, the teacher must present content with a Biblical worldview. The teacher is to serve as a model of Christ-like living that demonstrates Christian character and good citizenship. The teacher will establish and maintain effective student discipline in the classroom per school philosophy and policies. Ideally, this position is full time, but part time will be considered.
