The Live Oak School District was established in 1872 and currently serves approximately 1,700 students in three elementary schools, one middle school, one K-8 independent charter school, and one alternative school. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Executive Director of Human Resources plans, directs, integrates, and oversees all aspects of the Human Resources Department to support employee recruitment, retention, and morale across the District. This position provides leadership in the administration of personnel functions for certificated, classified, confidential, middle management, and non-represented employees. The Executive Director ensures the efficient and effective management of human resources programs, including classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, benefits administration, and professional development. Additionally, the position serves as the District’s lead labor relations representative, working with legal counsel and consultants to successfully negotiate agreements with labor unions.
Requirements / Qualifications
Certificated Pathway: Valid California Administrative Services Credential and at least three (3) years of successful leadership experience in personnel management. Classified Pathway: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in personnel management. Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to two years of college in business or personnel management and five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience. Continuing education in human resources, labor relations, or personnel law is required to stay current on legal and policy changes.

Comments and Other Information
Terms of Employment:
Certificated Position: 220 days, 12 month contract
Classified Position: 260 days, 12 month contract, including vacation and holidays.
