Job Summary
Position Summary Bellflower Middle/High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Home Economics Teacher to educate students in essential life skills, including nutrition, culinary arts, textiles, family and consumer sciences, and financial literacy. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that prepares students for personal and professional success.? Key Responsibilities -Curriculum Delivery: Teach courses in foods and nutrition, textiles and clothing, home management, human development, and related subjects, utilizing district-approved curriculum materials and guidelines. -Instructional Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring alignment with California state standards.? -Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, orderly, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.? -Student Assessment: Evaluate student progress through various assessment methods, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance. -Safety and Maintenance: Instruct students in the safe use and maintenance of household equipment and appliances; ensure classroom and laboratory areas are clean and orderly. -Professional Collaboration: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices.? -Extracurricular Involvement: Assist in supervising home economics-related student organizations and activities as assigned.?

Qualifications Required: -Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Home Economics or Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential in Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation. -English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent). -Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation and clothing construction.?Home - Salem-Keizer District 24J -Ability to plan and implement instructional activities effectively.? Preferred: -Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.? -Familiarity with integrating technology into the classroom.? -Strong communication and interpersonal skills.?
