Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and innovative Lower Elementary Program Teacher to join our collaborative teaching team. The ideal candidate is excited by student-centered, hands-on learning and is ready to co-create a dynamic curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners. You will play a key role in: * Designing curriculum based on students’ interests, developmental needs, and learning styles * Prioritizing social-emotional development as a core part of the daily routine * Encouraging independence, creativity, and critical thinking * Fostering a caring classroom community where every child feels seen and valued * Collaborating with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and enrichment experiences * Actively participating in school life, including community events and parent gatherings Responsibilities Include: * Plan and teach integrated curriculum in language arts, math, science, and social studies * Develop and lead inquiry-based, hands-on lessons tailored to individual learning styles Provide a balanced math program that emphasizes real-world problem solving and skill-building * Collaborate with colleagues on thematic, interdisciplinary projects * Document student learning through photos, student work, and reflective observations * Communicate regularly with families about student growth and development * Participate in weekly staff meetings, family conferences, field trips, and community events * Share responsibilities for lunch/snack supervision and open play periods
Requirements / Qualifications
Required: * Bachelor’s degree * Experience working in primary education settings * Knowledge of Progressive Education, play-based learning, and project-based approaches * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Understanding of child development and a commitment to inclusive, responsive teaching * Ability to create an engaging, beautiful, and responsive classroom environment Preferred: * Teaching Credential * 2+ years of child-lead teaching experience (will consider new teachers with strong practicum experience in progressive settings) * Experience designing interdisciplinary units and authentic assessments * Background supporting children in social-emotional learning
