The Learning Center Teacher in this role provides targeted instruction to students who face academic challenges in one or more core subjects, compounded by behavioral, neurological, or emotional needs that prevent satisfactory progress in a general education setting, even with additional support. This position involves delivering a tailored curriculum in a specialized classroom environment, where students spend half or more of their school day receiving focused interventions to address their unique learning needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Education Specialist Instruction credential for Moderate/Severe. Applicant must have or be immediately eligible for the California teaching credential or intern teaching credential. - Experience teaching in Moderate/Severe Setting is preferred - Authorization to teach English-language learners - Resume - Letter of Introduction (Please tell us about your philosophy on inclusion and your experience with project based learning) - 3 letters of recommendation - 3 references - Transcripts Individuals must be authorized or eligible to teach in California. Please submit a copy of your valid CA teaching credential or documents that show your immediate eligibility for a CA teaching credential. University interns and individuals who reflect the diversity of our student body are encouraged to apply. All applicants must have the authorization to teach English language learners.

Placement on the salary schedule is subject to determination by the Superintendent and will be based on the candidate's verified educational qualifications and professional experience. Official transcripts must be provided to substantiate the candidate’s placement on the salary schedule. The salary range stated above reflects compensation for full-time, year-long teaching assignments and will be adjusted on a prorated basis in accordance with the start date of employment.
The final candidate will be required to undergo fingerprinting at the district's expense, as mandated by California law. Additionally, prior to the commencement of employment, the candidate must present recent documentation confirming freedom from active tuberculosis.
