Upper Elementary Science Teacher The Dorris-Eaton School, a highly-respected independent K-8 college preparatory school in San Ramon, CA, is seeking a dynamic science teacher. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who will inspire a love of science in our 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade students. The ideal candidate is collaborative, engaging, and eager to create a classroom where students feel encouraged to explore, question, and challenge themselves. Beyond the classroom, teachers take an active role in and support school-wide activities that enhance the overall student experience. Our science curriculum integrates the Smithsonian Science Education Center’s inquiry-based, hands-on modules alongside carefully curated lessons to engage and challenge students. A weekly one-hour lab is built into the schedule. Key 3rd grade units are Space, Water, Animal Studies, and Motion and Design. In 4th grade, Electric Circuits, Food Chemistry, Microworlds, and Human Body Systems are studied. Sixth graders study a variety of Earth Science topics, such as earth materials, the changing surface of the earth, and the earth’s internal processes. Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess: • A strong knowledge of upper elementary science instruction and Earth Science curriculum • The ability to foster a positive, interactive, and inquiry-driven classroom that builds good character • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong organizational, planning, and classroom instructional skills • Proficiency in technology integration for classroom learning • The ability to teach technology is a plus • Bachelor’s Degree or beyond • 3+ years of teaching experience preferred
