Under the general direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Chancellor (Principal) is responsible for the administration, oversight, and coordination of the school site. The Chancellor directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of primary or secondary school by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. • Demonstrates an understanding of the underlying philosophy for an elementary (TK-5) or middle (6-8) school that matches the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of students age 5 through preadolescence. • Acts as the instructional leader for the school and builds capacity and knowledge in school staff. • Works with staff, students, parents, and executive administration to create innovative school programs and continually enhance student educational experiences. • Screens, selects, directs, and evaluates performance of certificated and classified staff members. • Administers an articulated curriculum program; conducts regular needs assessments and interprets results to staff and community, and gives high priority to leadership for inspiring curriculum and engaging instruction. • Supervise student activities and school events, before/after school, on/off campus; • Relates to students with mutual respect while carrying out positive and effective discipline policy. • Communicates effectively with the business and residential community and participates in civic activities. • Collaborates with the Honour Society (PTO) and other school groups to focus on school-wide activities and events that promote the vision and mission of Oxford Preparatory Academy and encourages a positive family-oriented school climate • Motivates employee performance and enhances morale. • Administers a balanced budget and operates a school under a decentralized management system. • Maintains a commitment to ongoing growth in self and others, supporting and participating in District and site profes
