Our ideal candidate is an energetic, outgoing person with high standards who enjoys working with students. She/he would work under the immediate supervision of the site administrator and would provide an instructional program to pupils in kindergarten. The applicant must be interested in developing hands-on, relevant curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking to serve the needs of our diverse student population in a small classroom setting. The applicant must also be committed to participating as a dedicated team member, interested in multi-discipline collaboration, willing to continue professional development, and be committed to getting involved in our school community. The school enrollment is approximately 40 students. This position supports two schools in Shoreline Unified School District. Inverness School, nestled in the residential community of Inverness along the approach to Point Reyes National Seashore, is home to our transitional kindergarten through first grade students. Five miles away in Point Reyes Station, West Marin School serves second through eighth grades. Class sizes tend to range between 10 and 20 students. This rural location in West Marin may seem a long way to commute. However, the beautiful country roads provide a peaceful, scenic contrast to congested freeways and crowded city streets. The time difference is generally negligible. Our small class sizes and intimate campuses create a nurturing environment where teachers, students, and families know one another well and support one another as a community.
