Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications • California School Psychology Credential • Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology or related field • Minimum of 10 years experience working with students with disabilities • Experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments of students (ages 3 to 22) with a variety of disabilities (e.g. emotional disturbance, intellectual disability, autism, learning disability, ADHD, etc.) • Experience interviewing students, family members and school personnel • Knowledge and experience using California Ed. Code and DSM-5 • Excellent analytical and writing skills • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a transdisciplinary assessment team • Able to complete assignments with pre-established timelines • Ability to present assessment findings, implications and recommendations in a clear and sensitive manner to parents and school district personnel at student case conferences • Ability to develop and provide trainings and workshops • Ability to travel • Valid driver’s license Desirable Skills • Ability to conduct standardized and informal assessments • Outstanding oral and written communication • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • An in-depth knowledge of special education law, procedures, disabilities and educational interventions • Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum and Evidence-Based Practices • Specific expertise in areas of non-biased assessment and alternative assessment • Bilingual capability and multi-cultural background is highly desirable
