Job Summary
Under supervision, perform a variety of paraprofessional instructional and clerical activities as directed by a certificated teacher in a classroom comprised of students with physical, emotional, educational, or behavioral problems in programs for severely mentally and physically disabled students served in the severely developmentally handicapped classes; and perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Instructional Assistants/Paraeducators, whether general education or special education, are required by law to be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist with, instruction, reading/language arts, and mathematics, either by possessing an Associate’s Degree or higher, 48 semester college units, or passing a minimum proficiency exam.

Annual master's degree stipend and/or doctorate stipend, pro-rated by FTE if applicable.

District pays 80% of the Kaiser Single Party Premium or 80% of Kaiser Two Party Premium for those selecting a "Two-Party" or "Family" Coverage Plan. For Employees opting out of the District Medical Plan, Cash-In Lieu is paid at 20.5% of the Kaiser Single Rate pro-rated by FTE.
DENTAL:
Dental Benefits through Delta Dental are not part of an open enrollment plan. Classified employees pay into a Single, Two Party, or family plan pro-rated by FTE.
VISION:
The District has partnered with Vision Service Plan (VSP) to provide employees with vision services. Employees may purchase VSP through Payroll Deduction.
