Job Summary

Job Summary: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is part of the K–12 public education system and serves as the first year of a two-year kindergarten program for four-year-old children, regardless of income. TK uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age-appropriate and developmentally aligned. In accordance with Education Code (EC) Section 48000(f), TK programs are designed to align with the California Preschool Learning Foundations developed by the California Department of Education. Please note that TK is not considered a preschool program and must be taught by an educator who holds a credential appropriate for teaching TK.

Requirements / Qualifications

Letter of Introduction Resume Three (3) Letters of Recommendation dated within the last 18 months Driver License Credential and Qualification Requirements (must meet one of the following): A valid California Multiple Subject Credential with English Learner Authorization/CLAD or equivalent authorization AND At least 24 units in early childhood education (ECE), child development (CD), or a combination of both OR Verified professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-age children that is comparable to the 24 units of ECE/CD education as determined by the Local Education Agency OR A valid Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Additional Comments: Please ensure all required documents are uploaded as part of the EdJoin application.
